I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my aunt, who is navigating an incredibly difficult season after the sudden loss of her father, Tommy Hall.

Over the past year and a half, my aunt has been battling chronic illness, spending extended time in and out of the hospital and unable to work. During that time, she used her savings to stay afloat and accumulated significant debt just to cover basic living expenses. She only recently returned to work about a month and a half ago.

Shortly after, her father was diagnosed with lung cancer that had spread to his brain. His health declined very rapidly, and he spent his final days on hospice in my aunt’s home, surrounded by love and family. Everything happened so fast, and unfortunately, there were no end-of-life plans or funds in place.

My aunt is now facing the full cost of his funeral and burial — over $14,000 — on her own, while still trying to recover physically, emotionally, and financially. She is grieving the loss of her dad and best friend while carrying an overwhelming financial burden.

Tommy was a proud Vietnam War Navy veteran who loved his family deeply and never met a stranger. Honoring him properly means everything to her.
