I’m riley morris, granddaughter of Tom Burke who passed on December 9th, 2025.

5 years ago tom was diagnosed with cancer in his left cheek saliva gland, 3 months after radiation was finished he had his first heart attack. A year later he had his second heart attack and his heart failure. He’s been dealing with heart failure since. He has been in and out of the hospital for all these things the past 5 years and haven’t felt the need to ask for help just yet. He got salmonella 7 weeks ago and it caused him to take a fall and that started his 1 weeks hospital stay to 1 week at Lutheran living. He then had his aortic aneurysm rupture which he then got air lifted to Iowa city for the 8 hour surgery. He made it through all that, fighting for 5 weeks before it was his time to go home to the Lord. between hospital stays, travels, parking fees, air lift expenses and now funeral expenses we are finally asking for help. Through all of this his wife, Mary Burke has been paying for it all with no complaints and we would like to take that stress away from her now. Also, to help increase her comfort after all this stress and heartache, we would love to raise enough to help her get a new bed - the one she has now is horribly uncomfortable and they’ve needed a new one for a long time. I won’t get too much into it but if you know Mary, you know she is the most amazing, most loving, most courageous person EVER. And she deserves nothing but the absolute best. She truly deserves to be taken care of like she takes care of anyone who needs it.
