It is with shattered hearts that we share the tragic loss of our beloved Thomas Smith Jr., who was taken from us far too soon at the tender age of just 16 years old due to senseless gun violence.

Thomas was more than just a son, a brother, and a friend — he was a radiant light in the lives of everyone who knew him. His big personality, infectious smile, and joyful spirit could fill any room. He had a way of making people laugh, feel seen, and feel loved. He was full of promise and potential, with dreams that were just beginning to take shape.

As the eldest of six children, Thomas was a natural protector and role model to his younger siblings. He was fiercely loyal and deeply loved by his mother, Michelle Franklin, who is now faced with an unimaginable grief no parent should ever have to endure. Alongside Michelle, Thomas leaves behind his two siblings, a host of loving relatives, friends, and a heartbroken community who are grieving this profound loss.

We are raising funds to help cover funeral and memorial expenses for Thomas, and to provide emotional and financial support to his family as they navigate this painful time. No amount is too small — every donation will help lift some of the heavy burden this tragedy has placed on their shoulders.
