On Saturday, June 20th, the matriarch of our family, our mom, Theresa Nicke, ventured out on her daily morning walk with her beloved husband, Chris. It was a walk they had taken together multiple times a day for years. Less than a block from their home, the home where they raised four children, welcomed 15 grandchildren, and hosted countless holidays and family gatherings, Theresa was tragically and fatally struck by a car.

This unexpected and unimaginable tragedy has left us heartbroken as we try to navigate life without the woman who held us all together. Theresa was the glue of our family. She was the person everyone turned to for advice, comfort, guidance, and unconditional love. Trying to take these next steps without her wisdom and support is something we never imagined having to do.

Theresa was a devoted wife to Chris, loving daughter to Joan Thompson, a cherished mother to Chris Nicke, Tiffany Haase, Eddie Haase, and Mike Nicke. A beloved mother-in-law to Dan Shea, Kristen Nicke, Brittini Nicke, and Annie Ng. She was also a proud and adoring grandmother to 15 grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Anyone who knew Theresa knew how selfless she was. She spent her life putting others before herself, always giving whatever she could to those in need. Even in her passing, she continues to give. In her final act of selflessness, Theresa became an organ donor, offering others the gift of life and ensuring that her legacy of love, generosity, and compassion lives on through those she has helped.

At this difficult time, we are asking for help in honoring Theresa’s final wishes and giving her the farewell she deserves. Funds raised will be used to help cover funeral and memorial expenses, medical expenses associated with this tragic accident, and to provide support for our father, Chris, as he navigates this unimaginable loss and the challenges that come with it. Any donation, no matter the amount, will help ease the financial burden on our family and allow us to focus on celebrating Theresa’s life and legacy.

We hope and pray that no family ever has to endure the pain and heartbreak that ours is experiencing.
