Support for Thelma's Funeral Expenses

Hello, my name is Gorham Achot, and I’m organizing this fundraiser on behalf of our grieving family following the heartbreaking and unexpected loss of my sister, Thelma Hatanga Abonyo, who passed away in Milan, Italy.

Thelma was a compassionate and determined young woman, lovely, brilliant, and full of promise. Her passing has left a deep void in our family and community. As we mourn, we are also navigating significant logistical and financial challenges to ensure she receives the dignified farewell she deserves.

We are raising funds to help cover:

Funeral, transportation, and handling of her remains

Memorial services in Kampala and Lira

Burial in her ancestral village near Lira City, Northern Uganda

Overnight vigils, meals, and support for family and mourners

The funds from this campaign will be withdrawn and managed by John B. A. Okello, our father, who is working closely with the funeral organizing committee in Uganda to coordinate Thelma’s return and final rites.

While there is limited support toward the repatriation process, the majority of costs remain unmet. Your contribution, no matter the amount, will ease the burden on our family and help us honor Thelma’s memory with love, dignity, and grace.
