Mano Chamal for Lt. Pradhan Family
Support for Funeral & Ritual Costs After Dallas Tragedy!
We are heartbroken to share the devastating news of the tragic deaths of Lalit Pradhan (53), his wife Ranjana Shrestha (37), and their beloved 3-year-old son Pranish Pradhan, who were all killed in a shooting that took place in the early hours of Saturday, August 10, 2025, in Dallas, Texas.
According to Dallas police, Lalit is believed to have fatally shot his wife and son before succumbing to injuries himself. The tragedy occurred around 2:10 AM on Dudley Street, Dallas, Texas, and has left our community stunned and grieving.
The news headlines don’t capture the full essence of Lalit Pradhan. He was a respected educator, a community volunteer, and a man who had spent decades serving others—especially as a founding teacher at New Horizon Academy in the Sanischare Refugee Camp (Pathri). With no buildings, no classrooms—only the open air and the shade of trees—he transformed those humble spaces into places of light, educating fellow refugee students who had been left behind, guided solely by his heart and his wisdom.
Ranjana was a loving mother and wife, and little Pranish was a bright, joyful soul whose life was cut tragically short. The incident has shattered both sides of the family and left deep emotional and cultural wounds that will take years to heal.
This fundraiser is being created by immediate family members, close friends, and community members to help cover funeral costs and traditional Nepali death rituals, which are essential to help the family honor their loved ones and find some spiritual closure during this unimaginable time.
Funds raised will go directly toward:
Funeral and cremation expenses
Cultural death rites and rituals (Shraddha, pujas, and other spiritual obligations)
Support for surviving family members coping with this tragedy
We kindly ask for your prayers, support, and contributions—no matter how small—as we, as a family, navigate this painful journey of grief and loss.
Thank you for your compassion and generosity. Please share this campaign to help us reach others who may want to support.
