Dear Friends of Chris Haynes,

Chris Haynes sadly passed away on March 12, 2025 after a long battle with liver failure. Chris was active in many Western Mass communities, including years playing with the Young at Heart Chorus, teaching at Springfield College, playing with musicians throughout the Valley, as a decades-long volunteer playing piano for both Hilltown Cooperative Charter Public School, for Smith College dance classes and often at the West Cummington Church. He leaves behind two daughters, Rosie and Norma Jean, who are in their twenties, and Sam, who is 17.

As a friend of Chris, I have started a fundraiser to help cover multiple years of medical and other debt accumulated while Chris was ill and unable to work, funeral expenses, as well as college tuition and expenses for Sam. During this difficult time, I am reaching out to the community for help.
