Fundraiser Organized by WSHS Cheer Alumni

The Woodbridge High School Community would like to raise money to place a memorial plaque and bench dedicated to beloved teacher and Coach Thora Davis at Woodbridge Senior High School (WSHS) next to the memorial for her husband, Coach Ron Davis. Thora Elizabeth Davis passed away peacefully at her home on October 19, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Thora began working at Woodbridge Senior High School in 1975 as a Cheerleading coach and Special Education teacher. She was a tremendous role model as a teacher, mentor, and coach for so many cheerleaders and students at WSHS. The memorial plaque and bench will be a reminder of the impact she had on so many lives.

Our deepest condolences to her two daughters, Alicia Rene, and Lenea Joy; mother- Effie L. Colden; five sisters- Marlyn Tucker, Regina Colden, Necole Stewart, Evelith Dupree and Mia Colden; three brothers- Walter Colden Jr, Aaron Woodard and Seth Colden; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Anything beyond what is needed for the memorial rock/plaque and the bench will be donated to The Arc of Greater Prince William/Insight, a charity providing opportunities for persons with developmental disabilities to achieve their greatest potential for growth and independence.
