Burial and Memorial services for Maria Guadalupe Juarez

Donation protected
My mother Maria Juarez was a loving, caring, funny, strong spirited person who loved her family dearly. Over the past six years, I have taken on the responsibility of caring for my mother after she suffered four strokes. During her time with me, mom overcame many of the challenges one would face after suffering four strokes.
Unfortunately, mom passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024 from complications due to a fifth stroke.

Maria was born in Monterrey Nuevo Leon, Mexico on April 30, 1943. She and my grandmother, grandfather, great grandmother, and uncle immigrated from Mexico to the United States as they sought better lives for themselves. Once they arrived, they settled in Bakersfield, CA. For years, they worked hard as farm laborers in Kern County picking grapes, onions, tomatoes, and cleaning cotton. Through this work they befriended UFW president, Cesar Chavez, who fought for their rights as farm laborers.

Maria raised five children as a single mother. She had two daughters and three sons: Jane, Felix, Joe, Rita, and Nick. Although she only had an eighth grade education, she worked hard to provide for her family. Maria was employed as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) at Shafter Convalescent Home in Shafter, CA for more than fifteen years before retiring.

Maria enjoyed fishing, cooking, dancing cumbias, drinking beer, spending time with family, watching Impractical Jokers, doing crossword puzzles, eating her pan dulce with coffee, and was afraid of flying in airplane.

Maria leaves behind loving sons, Nick, Joe, and daughter Jane, as well as eight grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Her unforeseen passing has caused financial hardship for our family, so we have opened a GOFUNDME to help support the cost of medical and funeral expenses. Please consider donating whatever you can as we attempt to ease the financial burden placed on our family at this time.

Thank you for considering helping us during these difficult times.

Sincerely,
Nick Hernandez (Coach Nick)
