Below is a loving tribute to Dona’ā - Jenny Quock from her dear friend, Ann Jacob....
"Dona’ā - Jenny Quock was a daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, wife, partner, auntie, cousin, friend, medicine woman, water protector, warrior, mentor, and elder. The generous, clear, practical, kind, and loving Dona’ā - Jenny was fluid in her living and immoveable when she was standing for the earth and all our relations.
Living over decades from her beginnings in Metsantan, deep in the heart of Tahltan Territory with only long trails to walk the Sacred Headwaters of Klappan and on to Iskut, Dease Lake, and Telegraph Creek, Dona’ā met all of life fully with her strength of knowing. Some of you know her as one of the Klabona Keepers -- fierce loving protectors of the lands and waters.
Dona’ā - Jenny's passing is a like an old-growth tree falling.
Many of us have lived with Jenny, worked and played with Jenny, been inspired by her, and have been taken in by her and her gracious, loving family and learned from her. She has shared her home and her hearth with us.
Some people are with us forever and for all of us who love Dona’ā -Jenny, she will continue to be our family, friend, and mentor. We will remember that wonderful twinkle in her eyes, her laughter, and her fun and deep ways.
Thank you for reading -- for your thoughts of love for Dona’ā - Jenny -- and for the gifts that you gave her by being in her life. Now with her going to the 'Other-side Camp,' we can support the family with our hearts and love by staying in contact and sharing our stories with them, and also by giving money if that is possible for you. Your contribution will be a blessing for the family at this time.
Mēduh ~ Thank you. Nedischā ~ Much love."
