Help Honor Wyatt Bernal
On July 2, our family experienced the unimaginable.
Our beloved 19-year-old Wyatt Bernal was involved in a tragic canoeing accident when the canoe he was in capsized. After an extensive search and two agonizing days of hope and prayer, Wyatt was found on July 4.
No words can truly describe the pain of losing a son, a brother, a grandson, a boyfriend, nephew, cousin and a friend. Our hearts are shattered as we prepare to honor Wyatt's life and say goodbye far sooner than anyone should ever have to.
Wyatt had a gift that couldn't be taught. He made everyone laugh. He had a way of making people feel included, seen, and welcome no matter who they were. He was the kind of person who could make a stranger feel like a lifelong friend.
Music wasn't just something Wyatt enjoyed. It was his passion. He poured his heart into every lyric and every beat because music wasn't simply what he did. It was part of who he was.
Those who knew Wyatt will remember his kindness, his generosity, his politeness, and the way he loved people without hesitation. He gave the very best hugs, and he had a heart big enough to make everyone around him feel like family.
The world feels a little quieter without Wyatt's laughter, but the love he gave so freely will continue to live on in everyone whose life he touched. His music, his smile, his hugs, and the way he made people feel seen and accepted will never be forgotten.
As we navigate this unimaginable loss, we are asking for help with funeral and memorial expenses so we can give Wyatt the beautiful farewell he deserves. Any amount, no matter how small, will help ease the financial burden our family is facing during this heartbreaking time.
If you are unable to donate, we completely understand. We ask that you please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers and consider sharing this fundraiser so others who knew and loved Wyatt have the opportunity to honor his memory.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for every prayer, every kind word, every donation, and every act of support. The love our family has already received has reminded us that Wyatt's light reached so many people, and for that we will be forever grateful.
With love and gratitude,
The Family of Wyatt Bernal
