With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Shailyn Alize Kirby, lovingly known to all of us as Alize. On December 15, 2025, Alize, a bright and loving 11-year-old, was tragically taken from her family after being struck by a vehicle after exiting her school bus. Alize was deeply loved and brought joy, kindness, and light to everyone who knew her. Her passing has left a profound void in the hearts of her family, friends, and community.

She is survived by her mother, Twanta Kirby; her sister, Corrections Deputy Tiffany Kirby of the Lauderdale County Detention Center; her sisters, Kacie McBride and Lily Kirby; and her loving brother, Preston Kirby.

Alize had a beautiful spirit that touched everyone she met. Her smile, her laughter, and her kind heart brought light into so many lives. She was dearly loved by her family, and her absence has left an unimaginable ache in their hearts.

The Kirby family is facing not only the emotional devastation of losing a child, but also the unexpected financial burden that accompanies such a tragic loss. This GoFundMe has been established to assist with funeral and memorial expenses, as well as to help support the family as they begin to navigate the difficult days ahead.

Those who know the Kirby family know them to be kind, loving, and full of grace. They are a close-knit family who care deeply for others, and today they need the support, compassion, and prayers of the community more than ever.
