On April 7th, we lost a truly special man, Rick Cain—a beloved uncle, brother, friend, and a well-known fishing guide on Lake Hartwell, South Carolina. Rick wasn’t just someone who knew the lake—he lived it. He spent countless early mornings and long days on the water, sharing his passion for fishing with everyone lucky enough to spend time in his boat.
Rick had a way of making people feel at home. Whether you were a seasoned fisherman or casting a line for the first time, he treated you like family. His stories, his laughter, and his deep love for the outdoors left a lasting impression on so many in our community. We are heartbroken by his passing, and we want to give him the farewell he deserves—one that reflects the life he lived and the people he touched.
Unfortunately, we are facing unexpected financial challenges. Rick had a life insurance policy intended to cover his funeral expenses, but those funds are not available for that purpose. Additionally, we are unable to access his estate until the probate process is complete. Because of this, we are asking for help from the community Rick loved so much. Any donation—no matter the amount—will go directly toward covering funeral and burial expenses. If you’re unable to give, sharing this page would mean just as much.
We also invite you to share your memories of Rick—whether it’s a fishing trip, a story, or a moment that made you smile. Those memories will help keep his spirit alive. Thank you for your kindness, support, and prayers during this difficult time. It truly means more than we can express.
