It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Richard Senquis Valldejuli — affectionately known to so many as Papi Loco, Abuelo Loco, and Richie Rich— the beloved son of the legendary salsero Chamaco Rivera.

On August 6th, 2025, Richie tragically and unexpectedly lost his life in a freak accident at a train station in New York. His passing has left our family devastated and navigating a loss we never could have prepared for.

Richie was more than just a father, brother, and friend — he was the life of every room he entered. His humor, charisma, and larger-than-life personality touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Whether he was making people laugh until their sides hurt or offering a helping hand, Richie lived life boldly and unapologetically.

In the wake of this sudden tragedy, our family is doing our best to navigate not only the grief but also the financial burden of funeral arrangements and other unexpected expenses. We are humbly asking for support from those who loved him, knew him, or were touched by his energy, kindness, or unforgettable spirit.
