Honoring the Life of Myrna Doughty (Mrs. Boyd)
On February 10th at 1:14 a.m., just one day after celebrating her birthday, our beloved Myrna Doughty, lovingly known as Mrs. Boyd peacefully left this world at Jamaica Hospital in Queens, NY, at the remarkable age of 92. Losing her has left a hole in our hearts that words cannot fully express.
Myrna lived a life overflowing with love, generosity, and purpose. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend, and a cherished pillar of her community. As a gifted seamstress, she poured her heart into every stitch, creating stunning, personalized garments for weddings, pageants, and runway shows. Each piece she made carried her care, creativity, and love a reflection of her extraordinary spirit.
But her gifts went far beyond sewing. Myrna devoted her life to nurturing others, teaching children to sew, leading the Girl Scouts, serving as secretary at PS 155, and running arts and crafts programs that inspired young minds. She was deeply loved by her students and colleagues alike. Her quiet strength, steady kindness, and unwavering dedication touched countless lives, leaving a lasting imprint that will be remembered for generations.
We are raising money to cover funeral and repast expenses so we can honor her memory with the dignity, love, and care she deserves. Every dollar raised will go directly toward giving Myrna a beautiful farewell that reflects the extraordinary life she lived.
If you feel moved to support, any contribution will help us celebrate her life and legacy, and allow us to focus on remembering the love, joy, and light she brought into the world.
Thank you for joining us in honoring Mrs. Boyd. Her compassion, creativity, and devotion to family and community will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know her.
