With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Lydia Caampued Villareal.
Lydia lived a life defined by strength, sacrifice, and unconditional love. In the Philippines, she worked as a beautician of her own beauty salon while raising her six children. As she cared for her family, her husband Ernesto worked far away in Laguna to provide for them. Together, they built their life through devotion and perseverance.
At the age of 60, Lydia and Ernesto fulfilled her lifelong dream of coming to America in 1992. In this new chapter, they embraced a peaceful life watching over their grandchildren and cherishing time together. She showered her love through cooking delicious traditional meals, making jokes, and singing songs that filled the home with warmth and laughter. She was always smiling, full of life, and never let stress dim her light.
In November 2025, Lydia began her fight against what was later diagnosed as Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer, a rare and aggressive form of thyroid cancer. Even in illness, she remained strong and surrounded by love. On February 22, 2026, at 12:30 a.m., she peacefully took her final breaths.
Our family’s deepest wish is to lay Lydia to rest back home in Bolinao, Philippines, beside her beloved husband Ernesto and her daughter Hiltrudes.
Bringing her home and arranging a proper burial comes with significant expenses. We humbly ask for your support during this time. Any contribution, prayer, or share means more than words can express.
Thank you for helping us honor the beautiful life of Lydia Caampued Villareal.
