Our family is grieving the sudden loss of our beloved Jose Cosme Vallejo, who passed away yesterday after a long, quiet battle with a broken heart.

Cosme carried more than most. Years ago, he experienced the unimaginable loss of his first son—a pain no parent should ever have to endure. Though he continued to show up in life, that grief never truly left him.

Over time, it weighed heavily on his heart, and eventually, his heart began to fail.

In search of healing and a fresh start, Cosme came to Texas with hope. He came not only in an attempt to rebuild his own life, but to help care for his mother who has been ill herself and has never fully recovered from the passing of her beloved husband.

As the eldest of the boys, Cosme was a pillar in our family. He was a beloved son, a brother bear, a father, and an uncle—a man who carried responsibility quietly and loved deeply, even through the internal pain he was experiencing.

We are now coming together to honor Cosme’s life and help our family through the unexpected financial burden that comes with laying him to rest. Any contribution—no matter the size—will help ease this weight and allow us to focus on grieving, healing, and honoring a man who gave so much of himself to others.
