Honoring the Life of Ephrem Harris: A Young Warrior

Dear Friends and Family,

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our beloved son and nephew, Ephrem Harris, who lost his courageous battle with germ cell cancer on July 29, 2024. Ephrem was just 18 years and 21 days old, but in his short life, he touched the hearts of everyone who knew him.

Ephrem was diagnosed with germ cell cancer about a year ago. From the moment of his diagnosis, he faced his illness with remarkable bravery and an unyielding spirit. Throughout countless treatments and hospital visits, Ephrem never lost his hope or his beautiful smile. He fought with everything he had, inspiring us all with his resilience and determination.

Despite the challenges he faced, Ephrem achieved a significant milestone when he graduated from Archbishop Ryan High School just a few weeks ago. His joy and pride on that day were palpable, and we all celebrated his accomplishment with immense pride.

Ephrem was not only academically gifted but also had incredible athletic abilities. He played as a running back on his school's football team and also ran track. He was named Track and Field 2023 Rookie of the year at his high school. His dedication and talent on the field earned him a promising spot as a football player at Texas Tech, where he had been accepted to study engineering. Ephrem was excited about the future and eager to make a positive impact on the world through his passion for technology and sports.

As we come to terms with this immense loss, we are faced with the difficult task of arranging Ephrem's funeral and burial. The family have created this GoFundMe page for the inclusion of his school, teammates, friends of Ephrem, Friends of Rosejoy and Siweh as well as well-wishers, to feel involved and support the family at this difficult time.
