Honoring the Life of Dr. Mario D. Lewis

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dr. Mario D. Lewis, a beloved son, friend, mentor, and educator. Mario touched countless lives through his work, his words, and his unwavering commitment to service.

A proud and active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Mario embodied the fraternity’s values of leadership, scholarship, and service throughout his life. He earned his Ph.D. in Education, dedicating his career to empowering students and advocating for equitable learning opportunities for all. His passion for education was matched only by his deep love for his family and community.

As we grieve this incredible loss, we are coming together to support his family and help cover the funeral services and related expenses. Our goal is to raise the necessary funds by October 21, in order to properly honor Mario’s memory and lay him to rest with the dignity he deserves.

If you knew Mario, you know he was the kind of person who lifted others up, who never met a stranger, and who made every room brighter just by being in it. This is our opportunity to give back to someone who gave so much.
