Our family is heartbroken as we mourn the unexpected passing of Derrick Mayes Sr., a loving father, son, brother, grandfather, family man, and friend to many.

Derrick was the kind of person who left an impact on the people around him through his strength, love, guidance, and presence. He was deeply loved by his family and those who truly knew him. His passing has left an unimaginable void in the hearts of everyone who cared for him.

After already enduring the devastating loss of his son, Jared Mayes, our family is now facing another heartbreaking tragedy that no family is ever truly prepared for.
