Daniel “Danny” Elissalde was truly larger than life. To those who knew him, Danny was more than a friend. He was a steady presence, a loyal brother in arms, and a man whose heart was as strong as his spirit. As a devoted father, his deepest pride and joy was his son, Danny Jr., and the bond they shared was one of the great stories of his life.

Danny lived with courage, curiosity, and a rare willingness to serve. He joined the U.S. Army in 1984, beginning a 15 year career marked by discipline and excellence. He served honorably as a Mandarin Chinese and Spanish linguist, a Special Forces Engineer, and a Special Forces Medic. His career culminated in service as a Special Operator within a U.S. Department of War Special Mission Unit. He served his Nation honorably with unmatched skill, resilience, and dedication, and he carried that same commitment into every relationship and every chapter of his life.

Danny’s family is now working to cover the unexpected costs of his funeral and final arrangements.
