Remembering Cody Vaughn James Perry
On the evening of August 25, 2025, at 8:36 p.m., our beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Cody Vaughn James Perry, tragically passed away at the young age of 33. Just minutes from home, his life was taken far too soon, leaving our family and loved ones heartbroken.
Cody was a light in so many lives. He lived unapologetically as himself—full of humor, passion, and love. He was recently excited to be stepping back into his fellowship with the Lord, and his faith brought him joy and hope. Cody found connection and community through his love of gaming, where he built lasting friendships. Music was his language—often sharing songs with us to express what words could not. And above all, he loved being an uncle, a role that brought him immense pride and happiness.
One of Cody’s greatest wishes was to go fishing one more time with his uncle, who passed in November of 2023. While that day never came here on earth, we now know he will forever be fishing alongside his uncle in heaven.
Cody had a giving heart—he was the type of man who would give the shirt off his back to someone in need, always willing to help whenever he could. That generosity and kindness will never be forgotten.
As our family navigates this unimaginable loss, we are reaching out for support to help cover funeral and memorial expenses so we can honor Cody’s life the way he deserves. Please don’t feel as if you have to donate—if all you can give is a hug, a handshake, or even a prayer, it warms our hearts and means the world to us.
Please stay tuned for announcements about his Celebration of Life, which will be held at Destiny Sacramento. The date and time will be shared soon.
We are deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and support being shared with us. Cody’s spirit will continue to live on in the memories, laughter, and love he gave so freely.
Thank you for helping us honor and remember him.
