Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of our beloved Christopher Franklin Johnson of Millbrook, Alabama, on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the age of 59. His passing was sudden and entirely unexpected.
Chris was a man of humor, heart, and genuine spirit. His quick wit, brilliant storytelling, and ability to find joy in life’s simple moments made him unforgettable to all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, especially for his daughter, Jessica Laine Johnson, and his four cherished grandchildren, who lovingly called him “Pop.”
If you knew Chris, you knew he was loyal, creative, and deeply caring. He was an avid musician, a lover of classic cartoons and chocolate milk, and the proud companion of his emotional support chicken “Popcorn” and his dog “Cotton.” Even through seasons of deep difficulty, his faith remained a quiet anchor. In one of his final messages, he wrote, “God is alive here and holding my hand.” We trust that he has now found the peace his heart longed for, held fully in the presence of the One who loves him.
We hold fast to the promise of Romans 8:38–39:
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers,
nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth,
nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
After many friends and loved ones reached out asking how they could help, we created this page for anyone who wishes to contribute toward the unexpected cost of cremation, funeral arrangements through Brookside Funeral Home, and to support the family as we take time away from work to grieve and make arrangements. Your kindness — whether through a donation, a shared memory, or a prayer — is deeply appreciated.
