Hello, my name is Jennifer, and I am raising funds on behalf of my aunt, Jhosanna “Josie” Galva, during an incredibly painful and unexpected time for our family.

Yesterday, our family received the devastating news that my uncle, Alexander “Alex” Brito Garces, passed away suddenly at the age of 50 while in Texas. Although details are still unfolding, his passing has left us heartbroken and in shock.

Alex was a devoted father and a constant presence in the lives of his children. He and my aunt shared two children together, Christopher (15) and Nicholas (12/13), who are now facing the unimaginable loss of their father at such young ages. Alex also has adult children from previous relationships, who are grieving alongside us. While Alex and my aunt were separated, he was always there when his family needed him, especially his children, and his love for them never wavered.

My aunt married Alex when she was only 19 years old, and their lives have been deeply intertwined ever since. Now, she is facing not only profound grief, but also the heavy responsibility of arranging funeral and memorial services, as well as the urgent need to transport Alex’s body from Texas back home to Miami, Florida, so he can be laid to rest surrounded by family.

This GoFundMe has been created to help cover funeral and memorial expenses and the significant costs associated with bringing him home. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help relieve some of the financial burden during this incredibly difficult time and allow our family to focus on grieving, healing, and supporting the children.
