Honoring the Life & Legacy of Detra Lee Croke
Donation protected
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Detra Lee Croke, a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished daughter, sister, and friend. Detra passed away peacefully at home on February 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 44 years old.
Detra was a ray of sunshine, a beautiful, vibrant soul who touched the lives of everyone she met. She radiated warmth, love, and kindness, and she lived every day with passion, resilience, and an unbreakable spirit.
Throughout her life, Detra was a three-time cancer warrior, facing and overcoming the disease with incredible courage. At just seven years old, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Wilms tumor, a rare kidney cancer, and defied all odds to survive, undergoing extensive treatments and the removal of a kidney. She later battled and beat thyroid cancer in 2008, and in 2017, she faced breast cancer, going into remission later that year after multiple surgeries. In 2020, her breast cancer returned, and she was given a Stage 4 prognosis. Yet, Detra never allowed cancer to dictate her life. She fought fiercely, continued to pursue her dreams, and remained the dedicated wife, mother, and professional she was meant to be.
Above all, Detra was a devoted wife to her husband, Jere, and an extraordinary mother to their four beautiful children: Xavier, Colin, Eli, and Giovanna. Detra had an especially deep bond with her son, Colin, who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at birth. She was his fiercest advocate, ensuring he had everything he needed to thrive. More than anything, Detra wanted to make sure Colin was cared for, supported, and loved.
As we navigate this heartbreaking loss, we are reaching out to our community for support. In lieu of flowers, it was Detra’s wish that contributions be made to Colin’s Disability Account, ensuring that he continues to receive the care and financial support he needs.
Any donation, no matter the size, will help honor Detra’s legacy and provide much-needed assistance to her beloved family during this difficult time.
Thank you for your love, support, and generosity.
