Honoring the Life and Service of Commander Scott Aaron

On January 9, 2026, our community lost a titan of public service. Commander Scott Aaron of the Oxnard Police Department passed away suddenly while on a training assignment in Orange County.

Scott’s life was defined by service—first as a U.S. Marine and then through a distinguished 30-year career in law enforcement. Since joining the Oxnard Police Department in 2004, Scott served in nearly every capacity imaginable, from the Family Protection Unit to his recent promotion to Commander in May 2025. He was the man the department called when a job needed to be handled with "excellence and heart."

Beyond the badge, Scott was a devoted husband to my best friend, Alice, a loving father to his two children, and a proud grandfather. His sudden passing has left an unimaginable hole in the hearts of those who loved him.

In lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations to support Alice with funeral and memorial expenses. Scott spent his life protecting others; now, it is our turn to support the family he loved so dearly.
