Honoring the Life and Memory of Peter Hsing Fund

We are heartbroken to share the tragic news that Peter Hsing passed peacefully on July 17, 2020 at Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto, California, after suffering cardiac arrest three days earlier. He left us surrounded by his parents (Fred and Fei), his brother (Andy), his children (Nicole and Brandon), and his children's mother (Debbie).
Peter was the embodiment of joie de vivre and was larger than life. He was bright,
vibrant, energetic, irreverent and witty wrapped up in one special package. A devoted father, brother and son, Peter was also a successful tech entrepreneur and Silicon Valley venture capitalist, and a good friend and mentor to so many around the globe. Above all else, he was deeply kind, generous and selfless in a way that was truly unique. Always there for his family, friends and colleagues, he took joy in helping others and wanted the best for everyone. Peter was always connecting people from different parts of his life, matching them with jobs or supporting their ventures, and introducing them to new interests. He was inclusive and fostered a sense of togetherness. In passing decades too soon, he has left a deep and indelible mark on the world as well as everyone who knew him. His everlasting generosity and kindness will continue as an organ donor, sharing everything he can to save the lives of others. There was never a second Peter was not selfless, and he will continue his legacy through others' lives after his passing.
So many of Peter’s friends have asked how they may honor Peter’s life and memory by making a contribution to a cause that Peter championed. We have set up this Go Fund Me Campaign to support those causes. Peter has always wanted to recognize the Entrepreneurship Program at Columbia University’s School of Engineering, where he served on the Board of Advisors and mentored many students, and the family is planning to create a scholarship in Peter’s name to assist young entrepreneurs. We also know he had many other interests and institutions that he supported. Peter’s family is working to identify and narrow the list of those causes. As the family continues to identify Peter’s other major interests, contributions can be made to this Go Fund Me Campaign and all contributions will be made to causes and establishments to be determined by Peter’s family and described at a future date to all contributors to this Go Fund Me Campaign.
