Honoring the Life and Memory of Damian Walker

The WildFire CrossFit Community….past, present, from drop-ins to regulars is completely heartbroken over the loss of our Coach, friend and everyone’s brother Damian Walker.

Coach Damian gave the ultimate sacrifice and lost his life while saving family members from the rip currents in Puerto Rico this past Friday, March 3, 2023.

Coach Damian has been with WildFire for 10 years. He was the spark that lit the fire for so many people. He loved, lived and breathed this place and this community. His spark truly spread like WildFire.

He was everyone’s hero. He had a way of making every single person he met feel special.

He would save every animal on the planet if he could.

He left this life the way he lived it. All in and sacrificing himself for someone else.

The community and family are still in shock in processing this tragedy.

We plan to honor him with a CrossFit Hero WOD made to honor him, as well as an event to celebrate his life on April 2nd, 2023.

Please keep his wife Salmeh and his entire family in your prayers and thoughts during this difficult time.

We are asking for donations to cover the costs associated with his service and burial so his family can grieve without the added stress of an additional financial burden.

Services for Coach Damian have been scheduled for Satuday, March 11 from 9am-12pm at Messinger Mortuary and Chapel, 7601 E Indian School Rd., Scottsdale, AZ 85251.

Burial to follow at 1 pm, Paradise Memorial Gardens, 9300 E Shea Blvd., Scottsdale, AZ 85260.
