Honoring the Life and Legacy of Yaya Ramirez

Hello, my name is Jasmine Aguirre. I am the third oldest of six beautiful daughters, and I’m writing this on behalf of my family, with a heavy heart and deep love for our incredible mother, Yaya Esmeralda Ramirez — lovingly known to many as Mama Yaya.
Around September 2024, my mom began experiencing trouble breathing and went to the doctor. After some initial tests, they found something unusual and requested further scans. That’s when they discovered a mass in her uterus. After a biopsy, we received the devastating diagnosis: stage four terminal cancer.
On December 22, 2024, she began her first chemotherapy session. From that point forward, she bravely underwent treatment every other week. Alongside her chemo treatments, she also went through rounds of radiation therapy. Still, no matter how much pain she was in, she never stopped thinking of us first. Even in her weakest moments, her biggest concern was our happiness. That’s just who she was the kind of mother whose happiness truly came from seeing her children and family smiling. She always made sure we were okay before anything else, and we will never forget that kind of love.
She even rang the bell after completing five straight days of radiation a moment that symbolized her strength, hope, and determination to keep going for her family. But as we know, God calls His strongest angels when He needs them most.
Our beloved Yaya mother, grandmother, sister, Tia , comadre, and Nina has gained her wings, and while her physical presence may be gone, her spirit and legacy live on in all of us. And I truly believe that!
She was and will always be a phenomenal, admirable woman full of grace, strength, laughter, and love. She was selfless, loyal, and kind. Anyone who met her was touched by her warmth, her humor, and her unwavering heart.
We are so thankful to everyone who gave us space and privacy during those final months. That time allowed us to cherish every moment and create forever lasting memories we’ll hold forever.
We’re now reaching out to ask for your support as we honor Yaya’s life. Whether it’s helping with memorial and funeral expenses, supporting our family, or simply sharing her story any act of love and kindness means the world to us.
Thank you for loving our mom, for praying with us, and for remembering the beautiful soul that was Mama Yayaaa.
With love and gratitude,
The Aguirre Family
