Honoring the Life and Legacy of Rush – A True Legend

We are heartbroken to share the devastating news that Kwadwo Asamoah, lovingly known to many as Rush, a beloved husband, father, and friend, has passed away. Rush was a remarkable man whose warmth, kindness, and unwavering faith touched the lives of so many. Born in Ghana on December 11, 1967, Rush’s life was a testament to hard work, dedication, and love. He leaves behind his loving wife, Tai Asamoah, and their family, who are deeply mourning this heartbreaking loss.

Rush’s passion for soccer was undeniable. He played professionally for Ghana at a young age and later went on to play in Holland. Even after his professional career, his love for the game never faded. He continued to play in the Saturday and Sunday leagues for years, winning countless trophies and earning the respect and admiration of his teammates. Later, he became the Legend of Hanger Park, where he played with friends on Sunday mornings to maintain his admirable soccer skills and celebrated life with his smile and warm spirit.

Rush was not just known for his soccer skills—he was a man of deep faith, starting and ending each day on his knees in prayer. He loved his family endlessly and worked harder than anyone to provide for them. And of course, anyone who knew Rush knows he had a love for Guinness Extra Stout—a true classic, just like him.

My name is Baha Elaqad, and I had the privilege of being Rush’s friend for almost 25 years. We shared countless memories on and off the soccer field, where we played together and celebrated life. Rush wasn’t just a teammate—he was like a brother to me. His passion, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends were truly inspiring. It’s an honor for me to help organize this fundraiser to ensure we give Rush the farewell he deserves and support his family during this difficult time.

Funeral Arrangements will be on April 12, 2025

Viewing : 3:30pm to 6:30pm

Memorial Service : 7pm to 9pm
