It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved grandmother, Remedios Navera Tapar, who went to be with the Lord on May 7, 2025.
Many of you knew her as “Mommy Remy.” She was a pillar of strength, courage, and endurance, especially to those who arrived in Canada many years ago. She dedicated her life to helping others find their place in this new land and guiding them on their spiritual journeys. For countless years, she was a prayer warrior, lifting up everyone in prayer—always. Even in the hospital, she continued to pray for others, never allowing her own struggles to stop her from interceding for those she loved.
Though doctors gave her only weeks to live on multiple occasions over the past three years due to her health complications, Mommy Remy fought through it all with the support of her children, proving that she had a mission that needed to be fulfilled—praying and interceding for each one of us. Now, the Lord has called her home, where there is no more pain and no more tears.
As we prepare to lay her to rest and fulfill her wish to have her ashes sent back home to the Philippines, we have set up this GoFundMe in behalf of his childrens to assist with memorial and funeral expenses. If you are able to contribute, we would deeply appreciate your support. If not, we ask that you continue to keep our family in your prayers, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will miss her dearly.
Thank you for your love, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
Funeral Service will be held at Chapel Ridge 8911 Woodbine Ave, Markham, ON L3R 5G1 on May 17, 2025 5:00pm - 8:00pm
With sincere thanks,
Jane, Lowell and Noel
