Honoring the Life and Legacy of Coach and Friend Marc Sweet

Friends and Family,

We are still in shock and mourning the loss of our dear coach and friend, Marc Sweet, who was tragically murdered last Thursday while filling up at a gas station in Pico Rivera.

As his family and all of us try to process and come to terms with this devastating loss, we have set up a GoFundMe page to help with funeral arrangements.

Marc had a gift for helping children grow, always listening with patience and understanding.

On top of being an incredible coach and role model for so many children, Marc worked with children and adults with special needs. He had a unique ability to make everyone feel important, loved, and valued.

Marc was never afraid to do the work others avoided — always the first to volunteer for the uncomfortable, difficult, or dirty jobs.

Soft-spoken and truly present in every conversation, he showed genuine interest in others, lifting people up when they were down and making the world brighter with his kindness. He was truly the best of all of us.

We will all miss him so very much.
