It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Arlene Baca-Cardera. She was a truly selfless woman who embraced everyone she met as if they were family. She had a heart full of love and generosity—always willing to give the shirt off her back to someone in need.

The past five years were especially difficult as her health declined, preventing her from doing the things she once loved. But through it all, her strength, compassion, and love for her family never wavered.

Our family is now trying to fulfill her final wish: to be laid to rest with her beloved parents, Ernest and Eleanor. We want to honor her legacy by providing a meaningful cremation, burial, and memorial service. However, the costs of these arrangements are more than our family can manage on our own right now.

Arlene was a devoted grandmother to Nathaniel, Amaya, and Ernesto, a loving mother to Ernest, a cherished mother-in-law to Aimee, and a widow to her late husband James Cardera. She was also a beloved sister, cousin and aunt to many who will miss her deeply.

While we take comfort in knowing she is now free from pain and reunited with her husband and parents—dancing in heaven—our hearts are heavy, and we are in need of some extra support to help us carry out her final wishes.
