Today, we celebrate the life of Yagazie Ike-Peters, a shining light in our family and community, a devoted Christian, one whose love and commitment to family and friends knows no bounds. His infectious smile, kind heart, and generous spirit touched everyone he met. His love and passion for service and support to others led to his desire to study medicine where he hoped will provide the opportunity to expand his service and support to friends and community.
As a son, he brought immense joy and pride to our family. His laughter, readiness to support family members and friends, creativity, readiness to take first step to motivate others, and memories will forever be cherished.
We'll remember his:
- Unconditional love and support for others (as demonstrated when he took time off work and volunteering in the hospital in Kelowna to attend a 2 weeks youth camp as counselor to other kids which he committed to doing every year).
- Commitment to friendship: Never forgets his friends and always reconnecting to old friends at very opportunity
- Passion, care and welfare to others ("The Chef") - making sure no one is hungry by asking and cooking meals for at every opportunity.
- Bravery and Courage (the "game changer")- will normally want to be the first to achieve a difficult task for others to follow.
- Perfectionist ("The organizer") - loves quality job, and ready to fix any broken things in his environment ,even if broken by others.
- Academic excellence (a "Leaner per excellence") - In Deans scholar's list. Loves and sets high academic standards
- Kindness/Empathy/Compassion (the Bridge builder) - always available to intervene and connect family members and friends through his loving and selfless ways
- Love for life and his funny quirks that always puts a smile on every face.
Though his time with us was short, his impact will be felt for years to come. We take comfort in the memories we shared and the lessons he taught us about love, resilience, and living life to the fullest. We are so privileged to have had him in our lives even though for a brief time.
Rest in peace, dear Yagazie Ike-Peters, "Daddy's MB", "Mummy's Yagiable", "Yagzi bobs", "granddad's Uzi". Your memory will live on in our hearts forever.
