:) :) Honoring the Legacy of Miles Elliott and Supporting His Family :) :)
On Friday, August 7, 2026, our community suffered a heartbreaking and unimaginable loss when Miles Elliott, was tragically killed while supporting firefighting operations on the Widemouth 2 Fire in Utah.
Miles was one of two pilots aboard a Sikorsky Skycrane helicopter that crashed while operating under an exclusive-use contract with the U.S. Forest Service. Both pilots tragically lost their lives.
To those who knew Miles, he was so much more than a skilled pilot. He was a devoted husband to Briana, a loving father to their son, Truxton, a local small-business owner, talented photographer, mentor, entrepreneur, and a friend to so many.
Miles lived his life with curiosity, passion, intelligence, and an incredible desire to help others. He took tremendous pride in his family and his hometown. Through his involvement with Little League and the Experimental Aircraft Association’s Young Eagles Flights Program, he shared his time, talents, and love of aviation with others—especially young people.
Miles spent his life serving others and making a difference in the lives of those around him. Now, Briana and Truxton are facing a future they never imagined having to navigate without him.
This GoFundMe has been created to surround Briana and Truxton with the love and support of their family, friends, flying community, firefighting community, and the many people whose lives Miles touched.
The financial challenges that follow a sudden and devastating loss can be overwhelming. Our hope is to help ease some of that burden so Briana can focus on caring for Truxton, grieving the loss of her husband, and navigating the difficult days ahead.
Every contribution, regardless of size, will make a difference. If you are unable to contribute financially, sharing this fundraiser, offering a kind word, or simply keeping Briana, Truxton, and the Elliott family in your thoughts and prayers means more than you know.
Miles spent his life helping others, serving his community, and doing what he loved. Now it is our turn to help his family.
Please join us in honoring Miles' life, his service, and his legacy by coming alongside Briana and Truxton and reminding them that they are not alone.
Miles may no longer be with us, but the impact he made, the lives he touched, and the love he gave will live on.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Miles' Family, Friends & Community ️❤️
