Help Us Honor the Beautiful Life of Our Precious Shani Coke

On behalf of Akeem Williams and my brother Aston Coke, Jr (parents of Shani) and with a heart that is completely shattered, I am asking for your help during the most painful time of our lives.

My niece Shani Coke, was only 10 years old when her life was tragically taken from us in a senseless act of violence. No words can truly describe the devastation of losing a child. Every day we wake up hoping this is just a nightmare, only to face the heartbreaking reality that beautiful little Shani is no longer with us.

Shani was a remarkable child. She was beautiful inside and out: sweet, loving, kind, humble, and incredibly well-mannered. She had a gentle spirit that touched everyone she met. She loved people, cherished her family, and found joy in spending time with those she loved.

She was academically gifted and took pride in doing her best in school. She was also a faithful church-going child whose faith and compassion shined through in the way she treated others. Shani had a bright future ahead of her, filled with hopes, dreams, and endless possibilities. Her smile could light up a room, and her laughter brought happiness to everyone around her. She was truly a blessing to our family, and her absence has left an unimaginable void in our hearts.

As we grieve this unimaginable loss, we are also faced with the unexpected financial burden of planning her funeral and burial services. This is something no parent/family ever expects to prepare for, especially for a child.

We are humbly asking for your support to help us give Shani the beautiful and dignified homegoing she deserves. Every donation, regardless of the amount, will go directly toward her funeral and burial expenses. Any additional funds will help our family with immediate expenses as we take time to mourn and begin the long journey toward healing.
