Our hearts are heavy as I share the news of the unexpected passing of a truly wonderful man, my dad, Terrance "TJ" Pendleton, who left us on May 8th, 2025, at the age of 51. Like so many great dads and men, his family was the center of his world, and his loss has created a profound emptiness for his four children (including myself, his daughter) and his six grandchildren, who adored him.

My dad, TJ, embraced life with open arms and had a remarkable ability to connect with people. To know him was to feel like you had a lifelong friend. He built bridges across all walks of life, cherishing his bonds as a brother, a dedicated friend, and a loving father and grandfather. An astonishing athlete in his youth, he carried that same passion and drive into all aspects of his life. For nearly 20 years, he also touched the lives of countless young people at Carl Sandburg Community College, where he worked and made a lasting impression, becoming a mentor for many after him. He was a pillar in his community, always eager to support and uplift those around him.

His sudden departure has left an immeasurable void in our lives – the lives of his children and grandchildren. As his daughter, I have created this fund to assist in the overwhelming costs that have resulted from our dad's unexpected passing. Before he passed, our dad was in the hospital for 5 months receiving no income to cover all of his bills. Unfortunately, he was not prepared for this costly long-term hospitalization or his death which have resulted in a significant amount of bills for his children. The funds raised will directly assist with these immediate needs including funeral costs.
