This past weekend, Teresa Messina, a wife, mother, dear friend, coworker, and a remarkably spirited person, suddenly passed away. For those of us who loved her, worked alongside her, and shared stories, she will be deeply missed. Teresa was a passionate individual who lived life on her own terms and shared it with her partner, Joan Green. She had a highly artistic nature, bringing beauty to everything she undertook. After nearly 30 years managing a floral shop, Teresa returned to school to study Health Information Management. She became a Medical Record Coder/Technician and loved her work at Carrus Specialty Hospital in Sherman, Texas. Her professionalism and integrity were outstanding. She leaves a significant void in our hospital family, and her absence will be deeply felt.

Good morning, Carrus Family,

With profound sorrow, I must announce the passing of our colleague and friend, Teresa Messina, who worked as a HIM/Medical Coding Technician at Carrus Specialty Hospital in Sherman, Texas, since December 14, 2020. Teresa was a trusted and respected member of our Health Information Management team for four and a half years. Her quiet strength, attention to detail, and unwavering dedication touched many lives across our organization. Teresa brought integrity to her work and warmth to those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of working with her.

Teresa is survived by her wife, Joan Green, a cherished member of our Cardiopulmonary team. We offer our heartfelt condolences to Joan and their loved ones, keeping them in our thoughts during this difficult time. As we collectively mourn this loss, we honor Teresa's memory with this quote:
