
Honoring Taylor Dunlap's Life and Legacy

On Saturday, April 5, 2025, Taylor Dunlap passed away unexpectedly in Seoul, South Korea at just 35 years of age due to a pulmonary embolism that led to cardiac arrest. He died peacefully in the hospital surrounded by his loving wife, Yuri Chung, his parents, Steve and Sue Dunlap, his sister, Gayle Dombroski, and his cousin, Nick Dunlap.
About Taylor
Taylor was a bright, steadfast, and dedicated individual whose wit and intelligence left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Most recently, he served as a Professional Associate in the Public Diplomacy (PD) section at the U.S. Embassy in Seoul, where he was widely respected for his professionalism and kindness. Taylor previously worked in finance with Aegon Asset Management (TransAmerica) and Manulife Investment Management before bringing his talents to the public sector.
Taylor was born on May 26, 1989 in Iowa City, Iowa and attended Iowa City Schools and the University of Iowa. After graduation, he moved to Baltimore, MD and then to Chicago, IL, where he met the love of his life, Yuri Chung. They were married in Chicago on November 5, 2022. Taylor and Yuri were on assignment in South Korea for Yuri’s career with the FBI, where Yuri works with the LEGATT at the U.S. Embassy.
