Honoring Tammy Wainio, Supporting Tristan Mathis

Donation protected

Tammy Wainio unexpectedly passed away on August 31 (while in hospital care, due to fungal pneumonia, after several weeks undergoing tests and procedures). Tammy's passing has been a shock and devastation to her family, friends and particularly for her son Tristan.

Tristan is an avid athlete and 2021 high school graduate, with a future as bright as his smile, a mirroring smile of his mother's. Those who've met Tammy are familiar with her beautiful and radiant smile. Not only in person, but also as a remote career recruiter and in her social media posts – Tammy will always be remembered for her contagious laughter, jokes and smile. Tammy took extreme pride in Tristan's athletic and scholarly accomplishments. #TeamTristan

To say that Tammy's passing is a devastating shock to her family is an understatement and obviously something a young, single person may not yet have financially planned for. In addition to current Covid 19 mandates for funeral homes and other gathering spaces there is not a traditional ceremony being held at this time. (Memorial details to be determined shortly.)

Tammy's wish was to be cremated and while her family has been overwhelmed and humbled with the tremendous support of love, there are countless family members, friends, co-workers and colleagues reaching out asking how they can be of help during these darkest days.

Tammy's family feels the best way to give support at this time to those asking or able, is to come together in Tammy's honor, showing loving support for Tristan's best interest. May Tristan continue to pursue all the things he is passionate about, which gave his mother some of her greatest joys.

We would like to use this page as a memorial for Tammy Wainio to honor her son Tristan as he continues his path in adulthood, education and the sports he loves. May Tristan find comfort and love through God's gracious light as it continues to shine upon him. #TeamTristan

Thank you to everyone for all the kind words and support they've already shown us through Tammy’s recent passing. It means more to us than words can say. May Tammy be at peace, reunited in the arms of her Mother and Father and may her spirit continue to shine bright upon Tristan and those who loved her. #FlyHighTammy

Thank you on behalf of Tammy Wainio's family. #TeamTristan #FlyHighTammy
