Honoring Sweet Virginia

Virginia was born on March 23, 2017 -- the best anniversary present her parents could have hoped for. Although she was only 8 years old, Virginia already embodied a true Mystic girl: she loved fishing as much as she loved gardening, playing piano as much as painting, and the color pink as much as she loved the Astros. She was brave, curious, and full of life: a first-time camper whose favorite activity was golf, excited to build life-long friendships and explore nature. A born caretaker, she loved "babysitting" younger children, especially her own little sister, Siena. Virginia was gentle, kind, and had an infectious smile. Named after her mother and grandmother, she grew up in a line of strong Texas women, and that strength showed up front and center in our sweet Virginia.

Virginia was a camper in Twins 2 when the horrific floods of the Guadalupe River swept Camp Mystic on July 4th. She was a pure, joyful soul who lit up every room. Although her loss has created a hole in our hearts that will never be filled, we know our angel Virginia will be watching over us all from Heaven. Her goodness and pureness of heart will forevermore be our guiding light, driving us each to be more like Virginia.

This fund has been created by friends of Virginia and the Hollis family to honor her sweet but too-brief 8 years on Earth and to support her legacy. Funds will be directed toward a memorial for Virginia and donated to causes honoring our adventuresome, life-loving girl.
