As many of you may know my best friend of 30+years is Jana. Her Mom and Dad have been my second family for as long as I can remember. Every family vacation I was a tag along to theirs. Needless to say, if it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t have experienced what a true family is.
On Thursday our Mom, Susan, suffered a fall resulting in a sever TBI. She is now in the Quality of Care stage of life due to the trama of the Injury.
She is survived by her Husband of 53 years, Morlen, her son Jason, 2 grandchildren Autumn and Logan, and her daughter Jana and her Husband Brian.
My second Mom's family is facing the heartbreaking reality of saying goodbye to Susan, a beloved Mother, Wife, and Grandmother. Her husband, Morlen is one of the best Men and Fathers I have ever met, and if you knew him, you too would understand this. He is a Veteran and dedicated 24 years to the Army Reserve, and is now looking at facing the world alone for the first time in his life at the age of 77.
They were simple people who found everything they needed in each other, a love we all wish we had. Now, while we play the waiting game, the extraordinary costs that come with a future loss are falling on his shoulders just as he begins this difficult transition. While we are doing everything we can to cover the essentials, the financial burden will be significant.
If you are able to contribute, all will go directly toward funeral expenses and helping our Dad navigate his new path, including meals and any assistance needed.
If you cannot give, your prayers for his strength as he learns to live in a quiet house would mean the world to us.
