Hi, my name is Briana, and I am the daughter of Susan Watkins.

I’m heartbroken to share that my mother, Susan Watkins, was tragically murdered in Fort Worth, a devastating and unimaginable loss to my family. She was taken from us far too soon. Her life was anything but easy, marked by hardships, personal struggles, and health issues, yet through it all, she had a gift for making others feel seen, valued, and cared for. She was strong, compassionate, and resilient, and she left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Because of the circumstances surrounding her passing, and having a smaller family in Mineral Wells, we’re not planning a traditional funeral as of this moment. Instead, I’m doing my best to honor her in a way that reflects the quiet strength and deep love she carried throughout her life.

I’m raising funds to help cover the cost of cremation services, an urn to keep her remains with family, and a small plot and headstone so she’ll have a place of remembrance. Some of the funds will also go toward travel expenses and time away from work so I can be present to handle her affairs and bring her remains home with dignity.

My mother was a registered organ donor, and even in her final moments, she gave the ultimate gift, the chance at life for others. We’ve chosen to honor her wishes, and through her donation, she will go on to save lives and give the gift of time to families who might have otherwise lost their loved ones. Thanks to LifeGift, her sacrifice will be able to help up to 500 people. It was her final act of service, and one I’m incredibly proud of.
