update: as we progress closer to our goal, (truly thank everyone from the bottom of my heart) I wanted to shed light on who she was as a person, and share some photos I’ve found comfort in.
DOB: august 25th, 1966-June 29th, 2025
I miss you mommy girl I love you.
Hi. To everyone reading this, I hope you’re doing well.
My name is Alexzandria. Most of you know me already, or knew/worked with my mother, my father, or were simply their friend.
I am writing this with such a heavy heart, to say my mother, Sundae Caldwell, passed away June 29th, 2025.
She was diagnosed with small-cell lung cancer in February 2024. Since then, she fought an extremely hard battle. When I say HARD, she was more than a fighter. She wanted to keep going, going, and going. Nobody could tell her it was time, because it honestly didn’t look or feel like it. She carried it so well. She pushed herself so hard. When it was time for hospice, she asked for more treatment. She didn’t think she was dying; she told herself she would live. My mommy girl was so resilient… Not one single part of her was ready to leave this earth, us, her family... She would’ve given anything to stay, and we would’ve given anything to have her here.
She never wanted a funeral. She wanted us to celebrate her life, accomplishments, and just spread love. She asked for a party so many times, as her “final wish,” so we are throwing her a Celebration of Life!
Following my father’s passing just 8 months ago, this has been an extremely difficult time not only emotionally and physically but financially. We’ve been preparing for this for months, but no preparation is ever really enough. We are not asking for much, just enough to cover the costs of the memorial services. Big or small, anything helps!
Understandably, everyone’s got something in life and may not be able to donate and that’s ok too! Please, just say a kind word… or 2, and a prayer for us during this extremely, extremely difficult time.
If you knew our girl, she was really THAT* girl and a pure depiction of a great friend, mother, woman, and kind human being.
She truly was the most amazing woman you could ever be blessed to know in your life.
I'm not biased.
I’m not just saying that because she was my mom.
She was so many people’s MOTHERS. (Seriously, she adopted so many kids out here )
She wouldn’t just give the clothes off her back, she’d take you to the store to get your own.
Her home was your home.
No food? Come over. Need a ride? Call. Tired of life? Get in her bed. Need a hug? SHE ADORED HUGS. Needed a laugh? She would sing for you, even though she was absolutely horrible lol. Needed words of encouragement? You were getting them on any day, regardless. Having a baby? She’s making you a blanket. If she couldn’t buy it, she’d make it. Anything she could do FOR YOU, she would. She changed so many people’s lives. We are forever in her debt.
Thank you warmly, and with much love
The Caldwell’s.
