It’s with a heavy heart that I share the sudden passing of Steven Gregory Ward (4/20/85 - 2/3/25). Beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend and father. He was just a few months away from turning 40—far too young to leave this world, and leaving behind his baby boy, Carter, who will be 2 years old next month.
Steven had a tough life and battled through so much, but through it all, he remained fun, kind, and full of heart. He had his ups and downs, as we all do, but one thing was always certain—his greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was becoming a father to his baby boy, Carter.
Everyone that knew Steven can share so many stories about how he could make them laugh, how he had such a loving heart, would kill for those he loved, was so OCD about his clothes and things, loved comedy shows, BMX & motorcycles, anything fast, a cold beer, tinkering on his truck, and spending time with those he cared about. His laugh and huge smile were contagious! He loved reciting lines from comedian, Kat Williams, and the movie ‘Friday’. Steven got so happy and excited over so many things, and I’m sure you all can name some fun stories and hear his excitement and loud laugh now as you read this.
Steven adored his son Carter more than anything in the world, even more than himself. Though Carter won’t get to grow up with his dad physically by his side, we will make sure he knows him—through stories, pictures, and the love that will always surround him. Carter looks like the spitting image of his dad and is already showing to be so loving like his daddy. He’s so sweet and smart and was Stevens pride and joy. ♥️
Carter, and all of us, now have an Angel looking over us all. I know Steven is in Heaven and can finally have the happiness, peace, health and a heart full of unconditional love he always wanted. We can find peace in knowing that he’s not alone and is surrounded by love, with some of his favorite people—including his grandpa Bill, his cousin Michael, and one of his best friends, Brandon, to name a few. I know he’s safe now. ♥️
As we navigate this heartbreaking loss, we are asking for help to cover funeral expenses and to help support Carter’s future. Asking for assistance is never easy, but anything, no matter how small, would be a blessing. If you’re unable to give, sharing this would mean the world to us.
Thank you for your love, kindness, and support during this incredibly difficult time. Please keep Steven, Carter, and our family in your prayers.
Rest easy Steven! We will all miss you, until we meet again!
With love ♥️
