Honoring Stacie: Mom, Teacher, Light

My name is Kaylee Schade. My dear mother, Stacie Schade, is currently receiving end-of-life care after being diagnosed with untreatable stage four cancer. There are no options left for chemo or surgery, so our only goal now is to keep her comfortable and surrounded by love in her final days.

We are reaching out to our community to ask for help. My father, brother, and I are doing everything we can, but we are in need of $10,000 to cover the costs of her hospice care. Every donation, no matter the size, will help lift a piece of this financial burden off our shoulders so we can focus on being present with her and giving her the peaceful transition she deserves.

Stacie is truly the heart of our family. A woman of great faith, she radiated kindness, strength, and joy. She spent her life pouring love into others, especially her students as a dedicated high school math teacher at CSY. She worked tirelessly, often working into the late hours of the night just to help give her students the best grades she could by meticulously grading each test and quiz with care or to make sure no student felt left behind.

She was always ready with a warm laugh, a funny comment, or a delicious home-cooked meal. She and I would go on adventures after school to try new places to eat or shop and she was always there to cheer me up after a long day. Stacie was an incredible cook, a curious learner, an avid reader, and someone who found joy in discovering new places. She was playful, caring, and selfless, always finding ways to uplift others even when she was struggling herself.

Watching her fade is the hardest thing my family has ever faced, but we are determined to make her feel as safe and loved as she made others feel every day of her life. This is our chance to repay her for the love she shared throughout her life.
