Honoring the Life & Legacy of SSG Emla N. Hendricks
It is with broken hearts that we share the devastating loss of our beloved SSG Emla N. Hendricks, a proud Jamaican citizen, devoted mother and grandmother, cherished friend, and decorated U.S. Army veteran. On April 5, 2025, Emla’s life was tragically and violently taken, leaving her loved ones in both the U.S. and Jamaica shattered by grief.
This is a deeply painful and triggering story. We encourage you to care for your mental and emotional well-being as you read, and to seek professional support if needed.
Emla was the embodiment of strength, love, and service. Her radiant spirit touched everyone around her. As we process this unimaginable loss, we are also facing the heartbreaking reality that we cannot hold an open-casket service due to the nature of her death. While this robs us of a final goodbye, we are determined to honor her in a way that reflects her grace, her courage, and her legacy.
We are humbly asking for your support as we raise $40, 000 to help her family navigate this difficult journey and cover critical expenses:
• Legal Support: Retaining a family lawyer to support the current trial to ensure justice is pursued. Retaining multiple probate lawyers to assist with the estate management & transfer of real estate to her children.
If you are able to give, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. If you’re unable to contribute financially, we ask that you please share this campaign, lift our family in prayer, and help us keep Emla’s memory alive.
With gratitude,
The Family of SSG Emla N. Hendricks
