On Saturday morning, our family unexpectedly lost my beloved brother-in-law, Specialist (SPC) Keagan Courtenay. At just 20 years old, his passing has left an unimaginable void in our hearts. Keagan proudly served in the Idaho Army National Guard. He was someone who loved deeply and lived authentically. More than anything, he adored his nieces and nephews. Whether he was spending time with family, gaming, fishing, listening to music, enjoying the peace and quiet of nature, or out shooting with friends, Keagan found joy in the simple things.
If you knew Keagan, you knew his sense of humor. He had a way of telling the most inappropriate jokes at exactly the wrong time. He’d have people rolling their eyes one minute and laughing the next. His ability to make people smile and laugh is something we’ll always cherish.
As our family works through this unimaginable loss, we are asking for help to ease the financial burden that comes with it. Donations will go toward Keagan’s funeral and memorial expenses and help support his mom during this incredibly difficult time. Along with taking time away from work to grieve, she is now facing unexpected financial and temporary living expenses as she navigates the days ahead.
No family is ever prepared for a loss like this. Every donation, no matter the amount, will help lift some of the burden from our family so we can focus on honoring Keagan’s life and supporting one another through our grief. If you’re unable to donate, we completely understand. Please consider sharing this fundraiser and keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support as we honor the life of SPC Keagan Courtenay. We will carry his memory with us always. He will forever be loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
