Support the Funeral of Shoua Tru Yang
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and elder, Shoua Tru Yang, who left us on August 20, 2025, at the age of 79.
Born on February 05, 1946, in Laos, Shoua lived a life of resilience, sacrifice, and love. During the Vietnam War, he served bravely as a soldier alongside his brothers and fellow Hmong. After the fall of Laos in 1975, he immigrated to the United States in search of safety and opportunity for his family, first settling in Minnesota and later moving to Banning, California, in 1984.
In 2007, Shoua suffered a stroke that changed his life and health. In 2010, he moved to Sacramento to be cared for by his sons and family, who surrounded him with love and support throughout his final years. Despite the challenges he faced, he fought courageously until his very last breath.
We are now reaching out to family, friends, and community for support during this difficult time. We hope to honor Shoua’s life and legacy with a proper funeral and memorial service, but the costs are more than we can manage alone.
Any donation, no matter the size, will help us lay him to rest with the dignity and respect he deserves. Your kindness, prayers, and support mean so much to our family as we grieve and celebrate his remarkable life.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your love and generosity.
— The Yang Family
