We honor and remember the life of Sherman Wheeler—a man whose presence meant comfort, love, and support to so many of us. Sherman was a steady line of support for his family and friends. His absence is deeply felt, especially those caring check-up calls he never failed to make. He had a way of showing up—sometimes unexpectedly—with his warm hugs, a special drink in hand, and a smile that made everything feel a little lighter. Sherman had a unique way of filling any moment, day or night, with connection and purpose. He shared gospel tunes with a voice full of grace, and he offered prayers and Bible verses that lifted your spirit and gave you strength to face the day ahead. He was truly a remarkable man—a loving son, a caring brother, a devoted uncle, nephew, cousin, a dear friend, and above all, a kind and gentle soul. His heart was big, and his love was sincere. Though we have had to let go of Sherman’s physical presence, he leaves us with something powerful—a legacy. A legacy that challenges us to do better, to love one another more deeply, to check in on each other, and to lead with kindness. Sherman, thank you for the love you gave so freely. You will always be remembered, always be missed, and forever be carried in our hearts.
